The building/construction of Rumah Kita started in 1998 and after rather big problems, such as the replacement of the roof, the house was completely finished in 2002. Also a house was build , on site, for the landlord.  Building of the pool (12 x 6 mtr.) started in June 2004 and was finished in September. After that a simple garage was constructed and some walls to guarantee full privacy. In 2007 the separate guesthouse was finished.

Accommodating guests started in 2005. First of all to provide a relaxed private comfortable accommodation for a reasonable price. It is the intention to give travelers a resting point during their trip through Java. But also to create a base from where the Nat. Parks can be visited. Most tours do skip this part of East Java while nature is beautiful and also easy accessible. And last but not least to provide local people with a means of income on the longer term. (Unemployment is very high and wages are very low in this area of East Java)

Guesthouse

In the villa of Rumah Kita there are 2 bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Each bedroom has a spacious bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower with, of course, hot water.

The guesthouse has also 2 bedrooms. Both with a double bed and each room also with an extra single bed.  Each room equipped as the rooms in the villa with a spacious bathroom.

The Villa has also a large living room, kitchen and a large covered terrace and the guesthouse also has a large covered terrace on 3 sides. from all rooms there is a beautiful view on the garden and the Gunung Rang volcano. 

The swimming pool is situated in the garden between the villa and the guesthouse.

The staff consists of :

• A person for maintenance of houses, garden and pool.
• A guard  from sunset until sunrise.
• A lady for housekeeping and laundry
• A cook for all meals
• A lady for the services during the meals.
• And, if not out with guests, a local guide, who lives on the premises (Also Landlord)

Bedroom A Villa

Rental is on the basis  of accommodation including breakfast. Coffee and Tea are free.  In each room is a book with information and the menu for other meals than breakfast. Other dishes, outside the menu,  can be ordered in consultation with the cook.

Trips can be best discussed with the landlord. He can arrange transport and guides. Please also have a look in the photo brochure  available in Rumah Kita ( Trips and prices). Also traditional massage can be arranged.

Pick-up from and drop to Bali and even Yogyakarta can be arranged. Also in combination with an overnight stay at the Bromo or in Malang city.

Bedroom 1 Villa

The pool is situated on the left of the villa and to the right side of the Guesthouse and it is fully invisible from the road in the front. Via a Balinese entry the garden can be entered from the front without having to go through the villa. To the back is an unobstructed view on the rice fields and the Gunung Raung. on the terrace of the pool are of course sun chairs, normal chairs and a bench. A big tree and 2 parasols give enough shade if necessary. The pool is about 20 meter from the villa as well as the guesthouse.
